Q : Where is Olympic Bike Shop located?
A : We are located at 620 North Lake Blvd. in heart of downtown Tahoe City – next door to Tahoe Dave’s & across the street from the Peppertree Inn (the only high rise in Tahoe City).
 
Q : How far is South Lake Tahoe from Olympic Bike Shop?
A : Approximately 1 hour, traffic depending.

Q : When are the typical riding seasons in Lake Tahoe?
A : Lake Tahoe sits at over 6200' within a typical alpine landscape (long, snowy winters & relatively cool summers). 

  • BELOW 4000'; : Offers year round riding.  You’ll have to drive approximately 2 hours from Tahoe to reach these rides and it’s possible it will be very wet. 
  • BETWEEN 4000'-6000' : Available locally from about late May – late June. 
  • BETWEEN 6000'-8000' : Available locally from about late June – late July. 
  • ABOVE 8000' : Available locally from about July – August.

Q : When does your rental department OPEN?
A : We typically start renting ROAD BIKES (weather depending) on May 1st & MOUNTAIN BIKES on June 1st (weather &  trail permitting).
 
Q : What is the BEST day to ride around the lake?
A : We recommend riding around the lake on Sunday mornings… the earlier the better.  Although this may seem surprising, there are less commuters and work vehicles on the roads during this day & time.  We also recommend that you ride clockwise so that you’re riding along the lake for the duration of your adventure.
 
Q : What if you don't have the bike I want to purchase in stock?
A : No problem!  We will happily special order it for you.  There is typically a 2-3 day turnaround time.
